Registering For A Unique Tax Reference (UTR)
To apply for a unique tax reference, you can either register for Self-Assessment online or use our services to apply on your behalf, we charge a flat rate of £29 including vat for this service.
To register for Self-Assessment online, you will need to complete our easy to use pro forma and return it to us.
You will need to have the following information:
- Your name
- Your date of birth
- Your National Insurance number
- Your home address
- Home address moved in date
- Reason for requiring registering for Self-Assessment
- Date the reason commenced
We will also require a scanned copy of 1 item of photo identification and 1 item of address confirmation.
Once you have gathered all this information, simply attach it to an email and we will then progress the application on your behalf.
Once we have applied for a unique tax reference, you will receive it in the post within 10 working days (21 days if you are abroad). You will also receive a letter with an activation code for your Self-Assessment account.
Once you have received your unique tax reference, it can be used to file your Self-Assessment tax return.
